Would it be possible to update the OpenSubtitles addon repository via the Kodi repo or any other repo to version 1.0.8? With the current version, when searching for the name of a series or movie, I get about 50 results that have nothing to do with what I’m actually looking for. I know it’s possible to download the ZIP file provided here on the website, but since I’m using Kodi directly on a TV, I can only update it through a repository.

still waiting to be merged, kodi is an open source project, these things can take time.
meanwhile you can install the new version from source
note that for better results make sure your media folders are properly indexed as tv series or movies and have the metadata loaded via the themoviedb plugin
